Northern Lights Tufted Hair Grass is a cool-season grass. Cool-season grasses put on most of their foliage growth in spring and then push up their seedheads as the heat of summer sets in. Unlike most shrubs and flowers this grass can give you 12 months of interest as it is evergreen to semi-evergreen. To clean up its appearance, prune in early spring like other grasses to 4 inches from the ground.
Care:
Very easy to grow. Keep well-watered the first year to establish a strong root system. Apply an all-pupose fertilizer in spring (after pruning or planting) when new growth appears.
If growing in pots, more watering will be required. In the heat of summer, daily deep watering is recommended. In winter, water once a month to keep the plants from dehydrating due to frost.
